Kentucky Wedding Photographer I Loo Loves
Anyone who knows me can say, with a whole heart, that ‘fave’ is one of my favorite words. Everything I like becomes ‘my fave’. I get super irritated when my iPhone insists on turning ‘fave’ into Dave, gave or face. Fave is clearly a word…
And in this boring season of cold, ugly weather, I feel it is important to entertain (or bore) you with my fave’s from time to time. There is so much goodness out there, and in this sweet little town that deserves to be talked about, so today, Loo Loves are born. I will post from time-to-time, my latest addictions, or things I think you should know about.
Tomorrow night I will be photographing an event at Claudia Sanders Dinner House called Tres Chic Shelbyville. The evening will be filled with music by Shelbyville’s New Breed, wine and bourbon tasting, a silent action, door prizes and a cash bar. Tickets can be purchased here and are $75/single person or $100/couple.
The goal of the event is to raise $10,000 toward a private room in the NICU at Kosair Hospital in honor of Shelby County. What a wonderful plan – I hope to see you there for an evening of fun – cocktail attire and dancing sounds like a good thing to me!! There’s even a $300 Lizzie Loo gift certificate up for grabs!
Next up is Kelly Moore’s new bag. It is definitely on my list of wants for 2010! It is meant to be a camera bag, but could function as so much Moore : diaper bag, laptop case, purse. This thing is super spacious and practical. I LOVE camera bags that are not only functional, but also adorable! Check it out!
Last, but not least, is one event that you will be hearing much about! 105 days until Shelby County’s Relay for Life event and Lizzie Loo has formed a team! My parents joined our county in fundraising efforts for many years and have passed the honor along to me! We would love to have any of our clients – past or future – join us in fundraising + walking to find a cure. More on this later, but for now, I am looking for folks who have faced or are facing cancer – I would love to do a portrait series to accompany our fundraising efforts. Sad to report, but last night the harddrive on our main computer quit living. The computer is at the Apple Hospital, but there won’t be any updates or progress on the blog or work until it gets out. Say a little prayer?

Visiting California I Rose Bowl and Family Time Recap
Well, it’s about time I made a full blog post about our amazing family vacation to Pasadena, California for the Rose Bowl. We had an amazing time and were all pleased we got yet another full, five-member, family vacation in. As we all get older and go through college, it’s tough to make it all coordinate. But we had a blast!
Here is a picture Sara made of me drinking some coffee on Balboa Island – it’s now a new header for the blog :)
We got to go watch as some of the Rose Bowl floats were prepared – AMAZING – they were going through flats of these roses like crazy.
Here were some filler flowers ready to be inserted and the tubs of Elmer’s glue + seeds that covered the floats.
This display was from the FFA’s float – everything was covered in seeds and grains, so they had this board to explain.
Meet my father, Mike, and middle sister, Sara. We made the trip to cheer on Ohio State, my father’s alma mater.
On Rose Bowl eve – also known as New Years Eve we visited Santa Monica’s pier for the Buckeye rally. All those red shirts are getting pumped for the game.
My pretty momma :)
Dad…walking.
My parents at the end of Route 66.
This sticker made me consider being a wildlife photographer…..I hope you’re laughing right now :)
Sister Sara doing what she does best!
OK. I admit it. I’ve developed a bird obsession. Tis true..
Not the yummiest cupcake image – by the light of our hotel lamp…but these Sprinkles cupcakes were AMAZING!! Seriously, the line is never too long, they may just change your life.
Rodeo Drive Gucci family portrait.
In classic Lauer form, we visited the racetrack. Here is the paddock at Santa Anita.
Silliest night of my life – we had a nice, family dinner at a chinese restaurant. One of the waiters was extraordinary at balloon hats..dogs…horses…bicycles…balloon anything. He made me a bicycle with a basket on the front. I put my balloon Leila inside and drove it around while wearing my balloon hat. Best New Years Eve ever – my sisters were mortified. Hah.
This was after our Buckeye win – look at Sara’s Go Bucks! pin glowing in the sunshine!
This is totally my sisters – to a T – telling one another how it is. Love them.
Madison I Louisville Kentucky Childrens Photography
You’ve already met sweet Madison in the last post. Here are a few more of her little, freckled face. At 5-years-old she is a bit shy so we played a game of Sorry to break the ice. In just a few minutes we were chatting about Dora v. Hello Kitty and running all around the golf course at her grandmother’s house. She even asked if I knew Big Red – her parents are both Hilltoppers – LOVE IT!
Emily I Shelbyville Kentucky Lifestyle Photographer
Meet my sweet friend Emily! She is most wonderful!

Happy Sunday I Louisville Kentucky Children’s Portrait Photographer
Hope your Sunday is going swell and I hope this preciousness just adds a cherry to the top! Meet sweet Madison – you’ll be seeing more of her.

Blessing Whirlwind I Kentucky Photographer Lizzie Loo
Just one more day of being out of the office for me! So much is going on here – new site designs, loads of blog content, Lexington sunrises, gown shopping with my besties, adorable kiddos, tons of wedding bookings (yay! and congrats! to all my new friends), ponies, puppies and passion.
Even my list of goals for 2010….and they’re checking themselves off like wildfire! So much is going on in my mind, my world has been turned upside down and I can’t wait to share it all with you! For now some winter wonderland images! Enjoy!

She enjoys the snow so much more than I could ever show.

So do these sweet horses.

And, well….I’m a sucker for snow! My sweet friend, Emily shot this in the almost-dark!

Happy Friday!

Leila and a little PB : Shelby County Backpack Program Feeds our Kids

GUESS WHAT???? Kroger has peanut butter on sale – 10 for $10 – making them just $1 a piece. Soooo when you’re shopping for your bread and eggs to save you during the snow storm, you should pick up some peanut butters!
Shelby County Public Schools sends home food to the neediest children in our community through the backpack food program to keep them fed while they’re away from school. As I have worked on many of my documentary projects, I got to see how important this opportunity is to the survival of kids in our own town. The program runs off of donations from our community, both food and monetary. Peanut butter is a staple for longer breaks and snowy times. Kids can eat for days on a jar :)
Feel free to drop your PB by the store and I will take care of it. You can even drop it by the Shelbyville branch of Republic Bank and at the School District’s Central Office on Main Street.
Together, lets stock up their pantry!

Your MY fave!!!
