.bid.day.
Now that I am back at school and not necessarily always shooting for you all, my goal is to share the work that I am doing. Today I have images from Western’s bid day, last Sunday. This is the second year I have been asked by my fabulous photo friend, Jim Veazy, to help document the festivities. Most of the photos were from Chi Omega, my assignment for the day, but there is one image that I love from a stop by the Alpha Delta Pi house. I love how genuinely excited the girls were. And let me tell you excitement wasn’t easy, as it was over 100 degrees outside. Congrats girls on all of your new sisters! Hope your getting some post-rush shut-eye.

Just being curious – how many of you all are greek? What organizations do you belong to? I hope to see your answers in the comments field!!
Have a good Labor Day weekend, and keep watching for updates. My SUPERFAST iMac is here so I’m on the move.
A teaser: I spent today photographing a single mom, Rev. Ken Boehm, a hotwalker, Christopher 2X and a few others. Hope I’ve struck your curiosity.

The night started at the Waterfront and ended at a Big Boy – really. We all had such a ball together and were soo tired and worn out at the end – that we decided to eat. Our meal (which really stunk) topped off a night filled with tons of shooting on Main Street in Downtown Louisville, at the infamous dumpsters on Market, back alleys, Locust Grove (my new favorite place)…and probably more places that I can’t remember. As you’ll see Misty is beautiful and so photogenic, so needless to say, I had to weed down from over 1000, yes 1000 images to about 130 final choices.

P.S. If anyone has an interesting reason to be included in my portrait assignment this week, give me a call or shoot me an email. I get to do 6 portraits – the only guideline is they must all be related. I’m thinking of giving it a racetrack theme – like horse racing, not NASCAR. But as always, I’m open to anything! Have a good week!
P.S.S. The fabulous makers of my new shopping cart, Troy and Rebecca Widner of PickPic, say Thursday or Friday is our ETA. I’ve got the images ready, so it will only be a matter of some finishing touches. Thanks for the patience!

Today was my first day of class! All went well – and I survived the heat! I am still in LOVE with Western!! Hope all is well where you are – more seniors tomorrow!!
.dylan.hutson.
I would just like to say that the stunning Dylan is my #1 blog stalker – and I sincerely appreciate her efforts! Dylan and I go way back to art class, my senior year. She kept it fun – and we discovered then that we both ride saddlebreds. To boot, Dylan’s dad, Jerry Hutson, trains saddlebreds. Needless to say we made a stop at Jerry’s barn to shoot Dylan’s pony, Booger – and got to shoot her three dogs too. Hope you enjoy her fabulous eyes!
So serious…

Sweet, sweet, Booger…sorta.

There are about 100 of this image, all the rest crazy and unorganized. The dogs all had their own agendas :-)

Smokin!

This is so, genuinely Dylan.

Thanks for stalking…I know you’re out there. Sure wish you’de comment.
.site.down.
Today the site got a new IP address in preparation for the new shopping cart. Consequently, it is taking the site quite a few hours to catch up with the change. Emails are working, as is the blog and everyone’s slideshow galleries, but the site isn’t loading. Sorry for the inconvenience – fabulous newness is just around the corner….so are Dylan Hutson’s preview images. Get excited – she’s stunning!
.michael.sheehy.
SCHS sophomore Michael Sheehy is busy auditioning. Yep, sophomore. So why did I take his photo? Headshots of course!
I’m adding .the.shot. into the session lineup to meet the needs of auditioning students, Realtors, models, business execs. etc. In around 30 minutes we’ll take a spin around one city block in one outfit and shoot, shoot, shoot. Once we’re done your images will be online for file selection and print ordering. Included are two full-res files toned to your liking, black and white or color for your use. 75 dollars will land you a space in the lineup.
Doesn’t he have a fabulous grin? Break a leg, Michael.

We had the most fun on Hope’s session! Really! Hope and I ran around Louisville with her mom, Beckie and had the best time. From 4th Street to Walnut Street to UofL to Churchill Downs, we covered the town and found some unexpected locations. I love this shot.

At St. James.

The neighborhood wasn’t the greatest here – but this image is so fabulous – and I LOVE that dress.

Chatting with mom.

Who isn’t a UofL fan?

Thanks for a fun evening and for spreading the word! You all were great!
ETA: The slideshow of all the fun is here.

Mixing it up a little with some family images. You may remember Ashley’s amazing maternity images from a few months ago ( here and here ) and baby shower images. When baby Sadie joined the crew I was lucky enough to land photo rights and am so glad I did! I love these family images for their true-to-life quality. Sadie wasn’t in a smiley mood so we all did our best to pull out a few grins. The unrehearsed moments are still my favorite. To me seeing into their family connection speaks much louder than images of grins and giggles. Thanks for staying true to form, serious Sadie and thanks to Drew & Ashley for inviting me in. Enjoy!

I LOVE how Sadie is waving here.

Can I just say my heart skips a beat when I walk into your homes and my photos are hanging there!

Hope this helped jazz up your Monday!
ETA: The slideshow is here.
.jamie.cottrell.
Here is the super sweet Jamie Cottrell! Jamie and her family have been my neighbors…for well 20 years now. We had the best time shooting at their farm, Johnson’s Vet Clinic (where Jamie works), her family’s farm equipment shop and around Simpsonville. I made lots of new goat, horse and chicken friends and of course we had tons of fun! Enjoy!
Here is Jamie with her horse.

Yep, this goat is eating my pants.

Can I just tell you this is a lady goat….with a beard. Rough.

At the family shop!

This image is by far my favorite! I love it! P.S. Twirling is MUCH harder than it looks!

Have a fun Friday and keep watching! Thanks!
ETA: You can see Jamie’s slideshow here!
An update on ordering: the old shopping cart is down and gone. Thursday the new cart should launch – ordering will be back in full swing then! Thanks for your patience!
Thanks for the kudos ! I’ve really enjoyed looking through your site – your shots are tight, which explains why your business has exploded. Nicely done ! Keep shooting wide open, the shallow stuff rocks :-)
