.off.to.the.lab.
I’m off to the photo lab to edit my story for this week (on Christopher 2X- more later). Wanted to give you a few images and a peek at a long term project on Shelby County HS’s assistant football coach George Cottrell. Just a few I pulled before I run to the photo lab for the evening. Excuse the poor quality – these files are what we edit from.

Hope that gives the SC boys something to look at until I have time to do a more serious edit.

By the way…the race is over…sorta. Kristen Yoffe won the prize…but amended it. Instead of iTunes, I’ll be treating Kristen to a lunch in November (when she’s in town and done being a super-certified-accountant) where we’ll chat all things camera. I can hardly wait! Kristen and I have corresponded a bit via email about cameras (quite a few months ago). Then at Destiny & Richard’s wedding she introduced herself (great blouse by the way!). Since then she’s been a blog lurker, but finally got brave enough, at just the right time, to comment!
A bit about Kristen, in her words: I’m married to the love of my life. My husband, Bryan, and I are so excited to be waiting for our first child from China. I love taking classes and learning new things. I’m currently pursuing my second professional accounting certification and I have a 2 year degree in Jewish studies. I love to travel and go overseas approximately 3-4 times per year.
When we do lunch, you can count on me taking photos and filling you in! Until then, a new bet…the 500th commenter will win $75 in iTunes. I will raise this to $75 itunes + 2 hours of photo time, wherever you please, if it happens before Christmas. I know you’re out there…my stats show there are lots of blog stalkers…don’t be shy, say hello! Enjoy your Monday!!

Crazy, I know – but here is a blog post! I have reclaimed some sleep, and have a busy weeks of tests ahead, but a little more time to work. Exciting!
Check out the beautiful Susanna – we hopped all over Louisville, from St. James Court to Boyce to Frankfort Ave.

Remember Sarah Heine?

She is Susanna’s best friend, so she hopped by to be a part of the shoot. I LOVE this! Wish I had some fabulous photos of my best friend(s) and I from high school.

Stay tuned.

Just made it home from the fabulous workshop I attended in Danville. After I recover from a major lack of sleep (I’m talking 2-3 hours per night max!) I have so much to blog about: recent sessions, a farmer story, my work from the workshop, a coach story and some fabulous friends. Stay tuned!
Here is a fun lock photo I shot while photographing a senior. I love the continuity locks share – they are each so different, yet the same and always rustic. I’m a nerd.

If you’re emailing or calling I am in the middle of nowhere – so be patient, as my computer and phone access are limited. For now check out the site for the Mountain Workshops, where I am now. We’re having a fabulous, sleep-free time. I will post images as soon as I can! Thanks!!!!!
.destiny.&.richard.
Destiny and Richard tied the knot on one of the warmest fall days. We started out battling St. James art show parking enforcement where the ladies were getting ready and ended with a really fun, tasty reception.
Her hair turned out so stellar – it looked great with her timeless, beaded gown.

LOVE this! I am always a sucker for shots with curlers – something about them. See how long her hair is? Destiny informed us that just a bit before the wedding she was planning to shave it off for charity. BRAVE!

Her gown, her hair and her shoes had such a old hollywood feel to them – I love this image for it’s grainy, old look.

The Matron of Honor chatting about lunch food. This wedding wins, by a long way, the MOST HOSPITABLE AWARD – their involvement in the restaurant industry clearly has much to do with this. There were food and drinks available all day long – and I mean GOOD food and drinks :-)!

Love this shot – she was so excited to see Richard. I LOVE waiting until the ceremony to see one another – oh the anticipation.

This cake = amazing. Why the batman? Apparently Destiny has a mild obsession.

This says so much about their connection – they were super happy just to have one another and all of their friends and family around.

Richard’s expression here says it all!

The reception was on the second floor of Glassworks – and let me tell you – this is the best reception site I have seen for stellar light. All night long gorgeous sunset light came in through the windows!

These next few images are all from the photobooth some friends provided for the reception. I think you’de agree that this is sooo much fun! Louisville Photobooth rents the machines, that come with an attendant and costumes. The booth itself doesn’t take up much space, but is the best party starter – people were in it all night long.
This little guy in particular had tons of fun.

The machine prints out one image, free of charge with 4 photos on it. All in all, it takes about one minute to take the photo and have it printed.

Here are Sarah and I having a little fun.

And just me! This is my new shot on the main site! A little more current :-)

Feel free to hop over to Louisville Photobooth, and check out the images from the night. What a great momento to have. I would make an album of all the images – just because they are hilarious – so fun and effective for remembering all of your guests. At the end of the night they even have fun favors to take home!
Thanks again Richard and Destiny for inviting me to share in your big day! I had tons of fun and enjoyed meeting your friends and family. Hope the honeymoon is great!
.aubrey.&.colin.
They invited me along – all the way to Athens, Alabama – WE HAD A BLAST. Enough said.
Aubrey and Colin’s love was absolutely adorable, infectious and so fun. They wrote their own vows – made me cry – and they partied under a lit tent to the smiles and stories their closest friends and families had to share. I started my day at the hotel with Aubrey’s ladies – and they were hilarious. I even got my hair done during the wait! Haha. The girls were so witty – and reminded me of my own – it was so hard not to have fun.
The bride to be as she had her hair done…and redone. In the end it was stunning.

Aubrey’s long-time best friend and matron of honor did all the hair.

Aubrey wore these stellar, red flats under her dress. I think this hit right on her involvement in theater.

The wedding had an intimate, country feel. The Hammonds chose to get married at Colin’s parents’ new home, under a huge tree. Ribbons were hung from the branches and the aisle lined in these adorable bow-adorned mason jars. Their families really pulled together a snazy setting.

Love Aubrey’s expression.

My most favorite part was how much fun I had – you all know I love my job – but this really reinforced it! The girls all love to cut up and joke, the bride no exception. Here is Aubrey making fun of me stalking her with my camera.

Gorgeous eyes – it seemed like everyone had them.

Here are those more-than-amazing vows I mentioned. Writing your own vows isn’t something I see a lot of – but it is so touching when I do. You could feel that Aubrey and Colin were super excited to start their lives together. You all win the SWEETEST VOWS EVER award!

I can taste fall here. Mmmm…cool crisp air, pumpkins and apple pie.

How cute are those!

FAVORITE! Yesss!

I love the light that sunset provided for us – it was such a perfect night.

Although this image doesn’t fit with the flow – I sooo love it. And no one would catch the garter – what’s up with that?

Thanks so much for inviting me to be part of your day. I had the best time – and loved all of your friends and family. You are so blessed with such a welcoming and helpful crew! Your love for one another is so fun and sweet. It was showcased so well in your intimate, personal occasion. I can’t wait to photograph your kiddos one day – and maybe a muddy dress. Haha. Hope it was worth the wait!
.call.backs.
School is wild! I am not getting done with class and/or classwork until late, and starting my days super early. Moral of this story is, there are many of you who have called, and I haven’t been able to call you back. Last weekend, I had two weddings, in two states, with all my drive time in the wee hours, plus there is a time difference between Bowling Green and Louisville. All of this + me = no callbacks. I will do my best to return all calls today, but if I miss you don’t hesitate to call again – I would appreciate it very much!
.home.sweet.home.
Just made it home from Alabama where I shot Aubrey and Colin’s big day. I would just like to thank my sunroof and iPod for getting me home – it was a long ride, but totally worth it. The wedding was amazing. Check out an early favorite – can you tell how much fun they are?

.amber.&.trevor.9.29.7
Amber and Trevor had the most gorgeous day last weekend. The wedding and reception took place at the L&N Train Depot in Bowling Green, Ky. I met Amber last year through some exchange-student-friends of mine. When classes started this year, Amber and I ended up in the same bowling course, and she invited me to tag along and shoot a bit on her big day. I am so glad that I did, as I have some Bowling Green images to share and I had lots of fun watching the gorgeous Amber enjoy her day. You may notice some of the portraits took place on Western’s campus. LOVE THAT!

I LOVE your shoes Amber – they were soo worth it!

Always trying to spin the ring shot.

Veils are almost NEVER comfortable – was yours?

Seeing Trevor for the first time!

Love this – it is soo them!

The big bonus in all of this: I feel super prepared and warmed up for my wild wedding weekend! Tonight I drove to Huntsville, Alabama for Collin and Aubrey’s wedding tomorrow, and then I will drive back tomorrow night to Louisville for yet another wedding on Sunday. I can hardly wait for all of the fun to begin. Once I recover on Monday, I will post sneak peeks and images from my farmer story. Get excited and enjoy your weekend! If you’re in Louisville, be sure to check out the St. James Art Fair for me – I can’t make it. Most definitely my favorite place to add to my necklace collection.
By the way, we’re almost to 100 comments – remember number 100 gets a $20 iTunes gift card!!!
Um i don’t see a pic of # 36!!!
