Today is the last day to order prints that will be here, guaranteed, for Christmas.
If you need any help, feel free to email or call!

Well, folks, last Saturday we made the family jaunt to Paul’s for our Christmas tree and dinner – this time at Mitchell’s Fish Market (have the kung pao calamari…it’s out of this world). Anywho…we had a great time and I took a few shots.
The fam searching for the perfect tree.

My lovely littlest sister, Abby.

This is my best attempt at holding my 100 pound camera (slight exaggeration) out to take our own photo.

Here is one of the outtakes from our family photo…mom took it :-)

I’m STILL toning photos from the football game.
.F.A.Q.point.and.shoot.
The most asked question of me in the middle of all this shopping mayhem was not, “Where are you going on black Friday” or “Have you seen that deal at the MAC counter (LOVE MAC!!)”, but…..”Can you help me pick out a camera for my granny/sister/uncle/dog/brother/mom/etc.” I’m not gonna lie…point and shoots aren’t my specialty, but I spent some time combining my previous photo knowledge with my favorite camera site: B&H Photo and got my act together.
Those of you photogs. that know me, know I am a Nikon girl – you won’t sway me…I LOVE Nikon goods, so naturally I am gonna give you my top Nikon pick for this year!
Here she is:

Let me tell you….this thing is great…it even comes in red!!!

So why do I love it?
1. First, the thing rings up at $219.95. Never spend any more than $250 on your little camera…they’re ever changing, and unless you’re selling your snaps – it will never pay for itself…only suck money into printing…photo printers etc. , so stop the sucking early….don’t open up your wallet if it has more than $250 in it!!!!!
2. It has 8.1 megapixels…which pretty much means you can make a stunning 16×20 inch print. I’ve never made anything larger than an 8×10 from mine (and I LOVE huge photos), but it’s always nice to have that option. Plus, the more megapixels, the more clarity your images will have.
3. Vibration reduction!! This bad boy has an image stabilizer inside that steadies the lens – compensating for your hand movements. This also shows a more stable image on the 3″…yep 3″ screen!
4. An interior zoom. This is an Elizabeth personal preference (that phrase is trademarked :-)), but I much prefer the lens to stay inside the camera, as opposed to coming out of the camera when you turn it on. Is this better or worse for the camera…who knows, but it’s one less thing to break, crack or have to wait on. My mom had a camera that got the daggum lens stuck outside and turned useless on us. External lens on a point and shoot : just don’t do it.
5. Red-eye fix; this seems to be a classic point and shoot issue, but this thing claims to shoot red eye in…well…the red eye.
6. Two important cords : the charger and the USB cord. The thing seems simple enough to attach to the computer. Half the battle is getting the pictures off the camera and sharing them. It even hooks right into your TV for easy image viewing.
7. Video and voice recording – always a fun tool.
8. 6 buttons : one for trash, one to play, and a few others..but they look easy to use and well marked.
Well that’s it folks – all the info I have to offer. I would definitely buy this from B&H – they’re great!
The only thing missing from this camera is a 1 GB or 2 GB SD card (these are on sale like crazy…watch the ads) and a cute little pouch.
Hop over to Etsy for some great little wristlets – LOVE me some wristlet, they’re perfect for running around – you can drop your camera, phone and credit card in and go.
I hope you enjoyed this briefing and hope you’ll stick around for the results from the Rocket’s game. I’m off to the photo lab at school to print my sports portfolio.

Good luck this evening! I am in Boone County land posting from the local Panera, so don’t mind the stinky color these images may have. My laptop isn’t the editing and toning machine it once was!
Anywho, tonight the Rockets face Boone County in Florence, Ky. for the regional championships – just one more step in their journey to state. I’m sure everyone is reading this as they pack their cars for the game :-). I hope to see lots of Rocket moms, dads and friends out tonight sporting their long underwear and cowbells!
Here are some images from the boys’ practice on Thanksgiving. Yep…Thanksgiving (by the way, I hope yours was great – more on mine later). These boys are so dedicated – and I think Coach Shipley said it best, “We are thankful to be one of a handful of teams who get to practice football on Thanksgiving.” The boys dined on doughnuts pre-practice and seemed to be content despite the chilly winds and muddy field. See you tonight!
Coach Lucas preps the offense.

The boys keeping warm. They’re always entertaining :-)

I’m pretty sure this was in reaction to Coach Lucas saying, “Now boys, if you’ll remember we haven’t beat anyone by 70 points, as we planned, so lets get that done tomorrow night.” Oh the pressure….glad I’m just the photographer.

Cuddling to stay warm, while Coach Shipley gave his Thanksgiving speech.

The field was pretty yucky.

I’m sure you’ll do ‘whatever it takes’ to rock the Boone County scoreboard! See you there!

.SCHS.vs.Madison.Central.
Your Shelby County Rockets traveled to Richmond, Ky., home of the Eastern Kentucky Colonels (ewwww), this Friday night for what turned into quite the football game.
The Rockets left with the Class 6A District 8 title after beating up on Madison Central 37-20. OK – maybe not a beating, but certainly a bruising! I haven’t seen these boys so excited in a while – they were crazy…and though their coaches may deny it, they were pretty excited themselves.
I hope you enjoy this batch of images – I know it’s a ton, but I love to include as many as I can – it’s my little way of thanking the team for letting me share in their experience.
Check in soon for a little from the Rocket’s preparation: Thursday’s Thanksgiving practice – yep – they’re practicing on Thanksgiving…and so am I.
I hope to see you all at the game Friday. I’ve said it many times; if there ever was a time to support your Rockets, it’s now! They sure could use and would love all of your encouragement at the game Friday. We’ll play Boone County (9-3) in Northern Kentucky this Friday night. Meet you there!
For now, enjoy my award-winning football commentary (I hope you caught my sarcasm :-)) and images.
A little prayer with Kyle Marston.

If I was on the Madison Central team…I would have been a little nervous.

Coach Lucas.

Notice all of the socks – if you’re coming – dress warmly. It’s a long, chilly night of excitement!

LOVE him!

A little Burk warm-up.

And a little joking around.

I love the quiet confidence here.

Coach Cresap.

A Nakatani kick!

I know I’m breaking the rule…but this is such a great moment. I couldn’t resist.

What I love about this team compared to others I’ve photographed is their ability to encourage and excite one another. They really are friends and are in this not just to win – but to work together. If I was a Rocket mom (or coach), I’d be real proud :-)

Half-time hype!

Nice.

Crazy Cresap :-)

Sometimes they get a little too fired up.

And frustrated…

Coach Dallas.

LOVE THIS!

LOVE THIS MORE!!!! Check out Tomas on the right.

Spreading the word…to the wifey, I think.

Our locker room was placed perfectly (for me) right next to theirs.

And this is when Coach Shipley reminded me of our no-photos-of-him deal. I just love Coach Cottrell with the trophy and the girls with their Madison Central bags. It’s OK to be jealous of SCHS’s trophy.

Once the boys made is back to Shelbyville, the buses passed up the high school exit, and drove to the other side of town. They met up with some police, the equipment truck and lots of Rocket fans for a police escort through town. It was late, and town was quiet, but they yelled, screamed and honked just the same.

OK, Rockets – my charge to you. Let this be all Boone County sees – a blur of Rocket football! Good luck! I can hardly wait to document your win!

Just a tease..again..I just got back to school and must prepare for class tomorrow. I will post the whole she-bang tomorrow, after class.
This weekend, my assignment was teenager…so I followed Elizabeth Shemo. Here she is congratulating boyfriend, Alex Matthews after the fabulous win. Thanks for letting me into your lives :-)

Coming soon! Just as soon as all of my memory cards download and I get a little shut-eye! Stay tuned – it’s so exciting!

Tonight Shelby County Rocket Football travels to Richmond, Ky. to play Madison Central. Here are a few shots from practice last night – TV cameras and all. I expect to see you all at the game!
Good luck Rockets! I’m sure you’ll bring home the win.

.free.wedding.photography.
…This weekend. If you, or a friend wouldn’t mind an extra photographer tagging along – it would really help me do my homework!
My story for class this week is wide open, and I would love to cover a wedding – but I need one. If anyone is getting married in the Bowling Green/Nashville/Louisville area, I want to be there..free of charge. I will host images just like any other wedding, so they can have a stab at what I’ve shot.
Thanks, Thanks, Thanks!
Email (elizabeth@lizzieloo.com) or call 502.643.6253 with your ideas ASAP!!!

MAKING ALBUMS!! Yessss. I am long overdue on some album work – and wedding editing. Get excited, because that is today’s task.
I love this – and had to share.

Great tips! I would love this for Christmas!
